Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

FormulaSolve (“we”, “us”) turns plain-language descriptions into Excel and Google Sheets formulas. This page explains what information the site handles and why. You do not need an account to use it.

What we collect

  • The text you submit. The description you type is sent to our server and to a third-party processing provider to generate the formula. We keep a log of submitted text only, together with the time and the page language, so we can improve the tool. We do not store the generated answer, your IP address or your cookies in that log. Log files are deleted automatically after about 30 days. Please do not enter personal, confidential or sensitive data.
  • Feedback and contact messages. If you use the feedback form we receive your message and, only if you choose to give it, your email address. We store them and forward them to our inbox through an email delivery provider, and keep them only as long as needed to respond and improve the service (up to 12 months).
  • Usage limits. To enforce the free daily limit and to prevent abuse we use a random anonymous identifier stored in a cookie (fd_anon) and a salted, one-way hash of your IP address. The hash cannot be turned back into your IP address. These counters expire automatically after a short time.
  • Preferences. Your language is remembered in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) and your light/dark choice in your browser’s local storage (fd_theme). Both stay on your device.
  • Technical data. Our hosting and network providers process standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and time) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

What we do not do

We do not require your name, email address or payment details to use the tool (an email is optional on the feedback form), we do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles ourselves.

Service providers

  • A third-party text-processing provider processes the text you submit to generate formulas, under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare provides DNS, content delivery and security, and may provide bot protection (Turnstile) on the tool.
  • An email delivery provider sends feedback messages to us.
  • Our web host and, if enabled, Upstash (a database used for usage counters) store and serve the data described above.

Advertising

We plan to show ads from Google AdSense. When ads are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where the law allows. Where consent is required (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) we will ask for it before loading advertising cookies. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

Your choices and rights

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the tool still works, but the daily limit may then be enforced by IP address only. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR) you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we do not link submitted text to an identity, we may not be able to find your entries, but you can ask at the address below.

Children

FormulaSolve is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
